My interest in wholistic health began with a BSc in neuropsychology from the University of Alberta, 1994. This led me into health care (home, primary and acute) where I worked hands on and in training and development/ management for twenty years. In 2010, health care in Alberta was in upheaval; I took this as my opportunity to pursue deeper and growing passions for alternative health and eastern subtle body studies.
Since that time I have completed primary teacher trainings and certifications through Heart & Gaitri Yoga, on Crystal Mountain, Ayurvedic Yoga Therapy through Sacred Seed Yoga , Yin Yoga with Bernie Clark, pre-natal yoga with Colette Crawford, and meditation through the contemporary Mclean Meditation Institute in Sedona, Arizona.
Living these passions for yoga, meditation and contemplative writing have become my Deni-Charya or daily lifestyle.
Since 2011, I have been privileged to teach over 3000 yoga classes which have included people ranging in age (children to seniors) and ability (various injuries and limitations) as well as varying class sizes (1-55). Since 2015 I have taught about 300 meditation classes, including a weekly Satsang for 2 years and a growing on-line community.
I am especially passionate about living and teaching what I call right relating and in healing inherited patterns of Fate.
My daily practice includes 45-90 min of meditation, followed by contemplative writing and a yoga practice; right relating to equanimity, rest, movement, food, creativity, each other, thought, feelings and lifestyle becomes the Ayurvedic process of working with the elements (space, air, fire, water, earth) and moving from Fates (lifeless repetition) to Destiny (the vital energy in every cellular breath).
I am passionate about living with awareness.
Seeing, hearing and feeling subtle patterns in the body/mind is a gift and a skill I was born with and have been cultivating ever since. All life is subtle pattern. Patterns that repeat with unawareness become stuck, cycling and life less in the body/mind, causing dis- ease (tension, pain, illness, injury, weakness etc.). Right relating begins with awareness. When we can clearly see the lifeless patterns of our fate there arrives an opportunity for growth. Living life from a place of deeper awareness leads us to our Destiny or Dharma (life purpose). The first step begins with awareness.
Receiving the subtle vibration of a story can be done over the phone, in person, in a yoga practice, Ayurvedic consultation or shared meditative space. The Tarot of Transformation is helpful in deepening the understanding of cycles, and patterns. Each of the seventy-eight cards represents an archetypal energy pattern; together they form a map of consciousness. Clear insights arrive through the non-local space of consciousness (Purusha), the space of One or the field of Love. Receiving is a gift and a skill I’ve been cultivating for a lifetime. Our own growth, health and wholeness arrives when we can bring greater awareness to our stories.
