Writing for me is a range of expression. I write to share idea’s, encourage thought and challenge same old same old patterns. On a deeper level it’s about integrating my soul (or life force) with my ego, the unconscious with the conscious, or my heart with life experience. My writing is largely inspired by the experiences of meditation, yoga and mysticism and those of life itself (the greatest teacher of all).
I write to express strong feelings or to inspire people to think beyond cultural norms and to see the world through the eyes of an inner life. I believe, like Naomi Klein, Charles Eisenstein, Carl Jung, Dalai Lama, Karuna Erickson, Sarah Mclean, Mike Daniel, Paula Reeves and so many others that the stories we tell ourselves become the worlds we create. We don’t have to look far to see chaos in the world. If we lack the ability to see, hear or know are own stories, we simply live out our individual and collective fates. This is why history repeats itself.
“When I write, I follow an image, a piece of music that can’t get out of my mind. I let it lead me, like a clue to a mystery to be revealed.” E.L. Doctorow
My blog is random. It follows the formula of inspiration at a particular time and nothing more. To avoid falling into the worlds agenda or some clichéd formula, I prefer it this way. I have just finished my first book, a meditators memoir, which is weaving its way to publication.
I believe words hold power and meaning for people. They are the seeds of creation we receive in the fertile soil of our human minds. Words are akin to the primal resonance of all sound. Aum. We hear their tone and know if there is kindness, judgment or peace. We understand a message and some piece of our own soul falls into place. We receive inspiration and our hearts are lifted. One timely word is worth a thousand empty utterances.
Being impeccable with your word means taking your energy in the direction of truth and love for yourself and for the world.
“All my writings may be considered tasks imposed from within; their source was a fateful compulsion. What I wrote were things that assailed me from within myself. I permitted the spirit that moved to speak out.” C. G. Jung
I know not all people are inspired to write but the creative muse is inspiring in all people. She needs to be expressed, heard and shared. She is a creative whisper of our own soul and without her spark we fall into dogma, stagnation and sameness.
I hope my words spark your own creative muse or inspiration and if you crave expression send me your comments or contact me below.
“I know that nothing has ever been real without me beholding it. All becoming has needed me. My looking ripens things and they come toward me to meet and be met.” Rainer Maria Rilke
